Carry On 03:24
When the darkness drifts around you You cannot find your way Your hope is gone And floods of tears Have washed your dreams away You can't go on When the shadows of the past Come creeping round your door And all your good intentions Lie broken on floor On the floor Carry on Carry on Freedom is a word That I've heard you use before But how can you be free With demons breaking down your door? They're back for more! When poverty or sickness Seem like your only friends Life doesn't seem worth living And you wish that it would end That it would end It's said: 'The darkest hour is just before the dawn' So just keep hanging in there It's not long till the morn A brand new morn Carry on Carry on Open up the door Let the light come flooding through Haven't you a place within your heart For something new For something new? Don't give up now Never give up now Carry on Carry on

I've been travelling through this world And I've seen all kind of things That I don't wanna see no more I can't seem to settle down As I move from town to town I feel like a stranger in this world There has to be a better place for me Where I can find some peace of mind When I get there then I'll know To call that place my home Cos that's the place where I am meant to be I've been hitching with this load Trying to get on down the road I've been standing in the afternoon sun And the folks that pass me by They don't wanna let me ride Cos they ain't seen my type before There has to be a better place for me... Now there's a train at 3:05 Think I'll hop a car and ride It's all bound for Canaan, I know And there'll be no more turning back Sure I'll meet you on the track Somewhere down along the line There has to be a better place for me...

As clear as the open road I carry a heavy load I offered my hand to you You closed the door You're not who you think you are But I know just what you are We're two different people But one and the same I don't understand it I can't seem to find out why There's no way around it Though I try, try, try Tomorrow's a long, long time And we don't have that much time Let's settle our scores right now Before the dawn Cause wars start within the mind One word spoken out of line Come down from your castle walls I will not fight I don't understand it I can't seem to find out why There's no way around it Though I try, try, try As clear as the open road You carry a heavy load I offered my hand to you You closed the door Closed the door

Down by the water Where the trees stand so tall Here we sit and remember Laugh at it all Days that were cruel Some that were kind We were bruised We were scarred We were battered and blind Now here comes love Feel it everywhere Here comes love The feeling's here The feeling's everywhere When I was younger I used to live alone In a world of my own making Where I could feel at home Love was a thing I was always looking for I would walk round for hours Go banging on your door Now I've found love Feel it everywhere Here comes love The feeling's here the feeling's everywhere Everywhere Here comes love

Build me a house With four strong walls Foundations deep under all I have lost everything I used to own Carry me home Sing me a song And sing it well A strong refrain That I can yell! I have lost everything I used to own Carry me home I don't need sympathy I don't need lies No more mystery No surprise I have lost everything I used to own Carry me home Carry me home Just carry me home
